Civic Engagement

On the third Saturday of October each year, St. Mary Immaculate parishioners engage by volunteering in service projects held on parish grounds and in various communities, reaching out to others with the heart of Christ. The day begins with morning Mass and a special blessing of volunteers. The various service projects take place between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm.
I have been a parishioner at St. Mary Immaculate Parish in Plainfield Illinois going on 19 years. My parish is very involved in the community and offers many programs in which you can volunteer. And every year the Church has an event called "Make a Difference Day" which I was fortunate enough to be able to volunteer with my siblings.
Make A Difference Day
Me and my siblings chose to volunteer with helping beautify the grounds of "Mantellate Sisters Servants of Mary." A property owned by this particular group of Sisters. We spent the day removing vines and overgrowth along the fence line, and repainted a statue of Saint Joseph with Baby Jesus.
